The Scary Journey Begins Now
This week me and Octavian launched Haunted Themes. After 3 months of hard work, the idea that started one day in the smoking lobby became reality.
Why Ghost?
To be honest, from the first day since I saw this platform I was interested in it. It was simple to use, fast and it had a great community. Pretty much like today. What I also liked about it is that it had a clear plan from day one, to be just a blogging platform.
Right now Ghost has a lot of nice things to offer like AMP Support, possibility to change Meta Data, Twitter and Facebook Cards for each posts, Code injection, an amazing and easy-to-use Markdown editor, Ghost-CLI for installing & updating Ghost and a lot more.
There are a lot of things that are planned like Custom Post Templates, Apps, Auto Updates, Image Optimization and so on. You can view them on Ghost Roadmap. You can also submit your own idea on the Whishlist if you want.
Things are going nice and smooth.
The Plan
For us things are pretty clear too. We are going to launch every month a new theme and add it to the bundle. The idea is to create quality products at an affordable price, and that is exactly what we're going to do.
We offer all the themes in a package deal called Haunted Themes Yearly Subscription for only $34.99. Every member has access to all our themes, support, and everything that we launch until the subscription ends.
We decided to launch with 3 themes:
- Hoia comes with vivid colors, smooth scroll, parallax, Disqus, share buttons and more. A theme aimed at the ones passionate about traveling.
- Tawau is a theme that fits writers, bloggers and programmers, people that focus on content. It has an elastic search, a Medium like single post, Disqus active by default, social share buttons and a lot more.
- Leap has a Pinterest-like layout for displaying posts. It comes with infinite scroll but you can set Ghost's default pagination if you want. Fits better for people that want the focus to be more on pictures rather than the text. Inside a post you'll find a progress bar that fills while you scroll, related posts, Facebook and Twitter share buttons and Disqus comments.
More themes will come each month.
